#001. Hello You

Hello there, and thanks for stopping by! One of my favorite parts of my Stampin' Up adventure so far has been following other Stampers' blogs and Instagram feeds - it's so inspiring to see other people share their talent, tips and tricks, and I've had so much fun discovering my own creativity that I thought I'd like to share as well! In the few weeks I've been involved in Stampin' Up I've felt more creative and open-minded than I ever have before, and I'm very excited for this opportunity to grow and become more involved with this great community of fellow Stampin Up' demonstrators and lovers alike.

Because I'm late to the blog party, I've technically already made a few cards - they've been great fun and I love how they've all turned out so far, but tonight's card was the first one that I felt proud enough of to really share in detail!

Aside from Stampin' Up, I'm involved in a number of snail mail/penpal groups, and as much as I love all the amazing cards I've seen so far, "Hello" cards are by far my favorite. So of course I had to have the "Hello You" thinlits set - it just came in yesterday but I think it may easily be my favorite item in the 2014-2015 catalogue so far!

Altogether, this card was pretty straightforward. I started with a base of Sahara Sand Cardstock, added a layer of a sheet from the Basic Black DSP, and topped them with a layer of Whisper White Cardstock. I did one layer of the Dotty Angles stamps in So Saffron, followed by another overlapping layer in Daffodil Delight.

I stamped the larger flower from the Mixed Bunch collection in Basic Gray and punched it with the Bloom punch, topped it with a Flower Shop stamp in Daffodil Delight (punched with the Pansy punch), and then topped that with a stamp from the Petite Petals set in Basic Black (punched with the Petite Petals punch). The flowers are layered with Stampin' Dimensionals. I cut the "Hello" thinlit from the Hello You set on Blackberry Bliss Cardstock and adhered it with glue dots. To top it off, I added a few pearls from the Basic Pearls Embellishments kit and colored those with a Blendabilities marker from the Rich Razzleberry set.
